What will you learn from the Ultimate Guide?

The Ultimate Guide series is highly practical and gets straight to the point on what you can expect recruiters to look at and measure you on in order to get a job. We also look at hints and tips from recruiters themselves and help you prepare yourself for success!

Throughout the 18 modules, we will take you on a journey through the typical steps of an assessment process, what recruiters are looking for at each stage or within each exercise; give you hints to help you be at your best and some example exercises to try and get in the right frame of mind.

An introduction to Fledglink, the goals of the overall training and introducing each module.

Section 1 | The Foundations

Module 1 - Jargon busting

Explaining and understanding the terminology used by recruiters.

Module 2 - The typical steps of the recruitment process

Explaining the steps and how they differ depending on the type of job you are going for e.g. full-time, grad/appr/intern.

Section 2 | The first stages of hiring

Typically the first step in applying for a job, we'll talk you through why they are used and what recruiters are looking from your answers.

Module 4 - Cover Letters

Cover letters act as an alternative to the application form, we'll explain when they tend to be used and some top tips for writing them.

Module 5 - CV's and Digital CV's (Part 1)

We'll help you understand the key parts of a C.V. and why they are important. Increasingly employers are turning to 'digital C.V.s' as a way of finding people. We'll introduce you to the Fledglink app's digital C.V. and how to make an epic one.

Module 5 - CV's and Digital CV's (Part 2)

We'll help you understand the key parts of a C.V. and why they are important. Increasingly employers are turning to 'digital C.V.s' as a way of finding people. We'll introduce you to the Fledglink app's digital C.V. and how to make an epic one.

Module 6 - Personality and ability

We'll decode the world of 'psychometrics' for you and when and why personality and ability tests are used in recruitment. Have a go at practicing some too here.

Module 7 - Situational judgment tests

Situational Judgment Tests and job simulations are commonly used in hiring. We help you to understand what they are and why they are used.

Section 3 | The interview

Module 8 - Video and telephone interviewing

Often used as a step before a face-to-face interview, and now starting to replace the traditional in-person interview entirely. We give you some hints and tips for how to make sure you come across in the best way over the phone or video.

Module 9a - The face to face interview

This module deep-dives into the different types of face-to-face interviews you might encounter and questions you might be asked along with what you can do to better prepare for them.

Module 9b - The face to face interview

This module focusses on what to do and what not to do after an interview!

Module 14 - Group Exercise

What are they and why are they used in assessment centres? We'll help you understand how to best prepare for a group exercise and present yourself in the best light when you do one
